BIOGRAPHY
Cormac Lynch, a Partner in MindCul is an expert in the area of Organisational Mindfulness. He has an MSc in Mindfulness-based approaches from Bangor University, and has been teaching mindfulness to groups in the USA and Ireland for the last three years. His specialisation is in understanding ‘‘What a mindful organisation looks like”.
Prior to that, he had a distinguished professional career in the corporate and not-for-profit worlds, holding CEO positions in several international organisations. Having started life as a Petroleum Engineer in the North Sea, he became a corporate finance expert, working for Goldman Sachs, Salomon Brothers and UBS in London and New York. He subsequently ran the investment banking and private equity operations of NIKoil, a Russian bank based in Moscow.
After retiring from banking, he founded and spent 10 years building an international social enterprise called Camara, that puts technology into low income schools around the world. On stepping down from that, he founded, and then closed Cong Engineering, a technology startup focused on the consumer electronics market.
In addition to his professional qualifications he has an outstanding academic record with a 1st class honours degree in Engineering from Trinity College Dublin, an MSc in Petroleum Engineering from Imperial College London, and an MBA from Stanford University.
He is a guest lecturer on University College Dublin’s (UCD) Diploma on Child Mental Health and is a member of the UK Network for Mindfulness-based Teacher Training Organisations and adheres to their professional guidelines.
He is married with five children and lives in Dublin.
